Orius majusculus
An efficient predator of thrips, capable of controlling it in various crops, especially when pollen is scarce. Both adult and immature stages exhibit predatory behavior and can also consume other soft-bodied insects, such as aphids, lepidoptera eggs, spider mites, etc. Its broad diet range allows for preventive releases in crops, even in the absence of thrips infestation. Orius majusculus forages throughout the plant and can also attack adult thrips. Abundant pollen in flowers is not a requirement for its establishment. Under optimal conditions at 25°C, Orius majusculus completes its life cycle in about 21 days.
